A few years ago, if you'd asked me whether I was happy with my life, I probably would have said yes. But underneath that answer was a feeling I couldn't quite ignore. Something was missing.
I live in Papamoa, New Zealand, just a short walk from the beach. Eight years ago, I packed up my life in Auckland and moved here after a weekend visit. It felt right, so I trusted my instincts and made the move.
Life carried on, but over time I found myself longing for more freedom, more connection, and more control over my future. I had spent decades working hard, doing what was expected, and building a career in office administration. Yet deep down, I knew there had to be another way to create the life I wanted.
The more I grew in confidence, the bigger my world became.
THE WAKE-UP CALL I DIDN'T EXPECT: The past couple of years brought more challenges than I ever could have anticipated.
I lost my beloved dog, who had been my constant companion. Not long afterwards, I suffered a serious fall and broke my wrist in three places. While recovering, I was informed that my role was being made redundant.
At first, it felt like everything was happening at once. But with time on my hands and nowhere to rush off to, I began focusing on something I had never truly prioritised before... myself.
I immersed myself in Personal Development, and for the first time in a long time, I started looking at my circumstances differently. What if these setbacks weren't roadblocks? What if they were opportunities?
WHEN LIFE OPENED A NEW DOOR: Years earlier, I had attempted to start my own administration business after another redundancy. Like many people, I quickly discovered how overwhelming it could be trying to figure everything out on my own.
Eventually, I gave up and returned to traditional employment. But this time felt different.
When I came across this business model, something clicked. The systems, the support, the training and the community were unlike anything I had experienced before. Instead of trying to build everything from scratch, I found a proven pathway and people genuinely invested in helping others succeed.
For the first time, I could see a future where I was working for myself, creating my own schedule, and building something that aligned with the life I wanted.

BUILDING THE NEXT CHAPTER ON MY TERMS:
Today, I am creating a business alongside a world-class Personal Development company, while continuing to grow personally in ways I never expected. What excites me most isn't just the business itself. It's what it makes possible.
More time with my sister, daughter and granddaughter. The freedom to travel and visit friends around New Zealand and overseas. The confidence to say yes to experiences I once believed were out of reach.
Most importantly, I've realised that life doesn't stop offering possibilities just because you've reached a certain age or stage.
In many ways, I feel like my most exciting chapter is only just beginning.
